2022 Pantone Color of the Year

The Pantone Color Institute has chosen “Very Peri” as their color of the year for 2022. As the color standards management company, they went a different route from many paint brands that chose various shades of green for the year.

The periwinkle shade was chosen for the blending and constancy of a classic blue with the energy of red. Moving forward in a world of change and uncertainty, Very Peri’s blue tones bring a sense of trust while the red tones encourage creativity and imaginative expression.

Since Very Peri is an uncommon color, it is a bold move to use when painting or adding to decor in the home. It can bring a fresh flair to an otherwise plain kitchen by popping up on an island base or lower perimeter cabinets.

It can be a calming shade when used in bedrooms due to its blue undertones. If you aim for a space to rest and relax, incorporate some Very Peri into your bedroom decor during the new year.

Bathrooms can also become calming and comforting with a subtle hint of the periwinkle shade. It can be used on an accent wall around bathroom mirrors or you can decorate with towels and counter decor for an easy way to transform the bathroom space.

If you’re thinking of switching up the furniture anywhere in your home, using this periwinkle would be a good way to play with color without being over-the-top bold or vivid. This also works with decor, such as throw pillows or rugs.

If you are up for freshening up your home with a new paint color, Very Peri would make for an exciting accent wall in any room. You may even consider using it all around a guest bedroom for a bright, encouraging experience for anyone who stays in your home for a period of time.

While a new year comes with new uncertainties, having this fun color around can help ground you and give you a calming energy to conquer each day. Try incorporating Very Peri into your home this year, no matter how big or how small.
